Health care in Sweden is far too fragmented and there is too little focus on the actual results of the care given. Closer cooperation with coherent and well-considered care chains can achieve higher quality and better use of the health care service's resources. Skandia and GHP already have this kind of collaboration for patients with spine, hip, neck and shoulder conditions in Stockholm.

Skandia and GHP are now developing their collaboration to include customers in need of care in Gothenburg. The collaboration is based on a clearer focus on the quality of the care given, that is how great the benefits of the health care are for the customer.

"We want our customers to receive the right care, that is the care they really need, neither more nor less. The solution we have now come up with together with GHP in Gothenburg is based on quality rather than quantity", says Jan Karlsson, Head of Risk & Health at Skandia.

"Far too much care is still given in Sweden without any follow up of quality. Together with Skandia, we are now taking a step forward, with the focus on quality and patient satisfaction rather than on counting the number of appointments", says Daniel Öhman, CEO of GHP.  

Unlike Skandia and GHP's existing collaboration, which has recently been renewed, the expanded collaboration is not exclusive but is further development and closer collaboration regarding existing collaboration in Gothenburg. The clinics that will be included in the collaboration are GHP Spine Center and GHP Ortho Center. The collaboration is expected to have a positive but not significant impact on GHP's results for 2018.
